Welcome to the Pitts Katahdin Sheep Farm |

| Thank you for visiting us,
J.B. & Jackie Pitts, on our web site. Our farm is located in the
lazy southern part of Mississippi in a small town called Petal. We
have 122 acres of rolling pasture land and raise Piney Woods Cattle,
which we thought would help keep the pastures and brush cleaned up.
This did not meet the expectations we had. We had heard about sheep with hair not wool, so we started looking for information on these sheep. We found that they have a high fertility rate, excellent meat production and good flocking instinct. Katahdins are a very good choice for pasture based, low maintenance management systems, they are parasite resistant, and NO shearing! The ewes make excellent mothers and often produce twins or triplets and again NO shearing. With all information in our hands we started looking for Katahdin sheep to purchase, raise and breed these sheep. We still have our Piney Woods Cattle to raise and sell, and now have a good start of Katahdin Hair Sheep. We are members of the Katahdin Hair Sheep International and the South Central Katahdin Hair Sheep Association. Thanks again for visiting our website. Come again real soon.
